We ensure that all quality parameters are met and have the certifications as a proof of that.
ISO 22000:2005 : This defines the food safety management system requirements for companies that they need to meet and exceed global food safety regulations. 20 of our gardens are certified.
The Estates going in for Certification this year are Nahortoli, Kakajan, Lattakoojan & Noweranuddy.
SA 8000 : This is based on the principles of international human rights norms and described in International Labour Organization conventions, the United Nations convention on the rights of the child and the universal declaration of human rights. All our estates are SA 8000 certified.
ETHICAL TEA PARTNERSHIP : The Ethical Tea Partnership (ETP) is an international, non-competitive alliance of tea packers who are working together to improve the sustainability in the tea sector.
ETP’s aim is to improve the lives of tea workers and to ensure that tea drinkers can be confident that their tea has been produced in a socially and environmentally sustainable way. All our Assam tea estates are ETP compliant.
OHS Auditing : Apart from the above, Amalgamated Plantations Pvt. Ltd. has successfully implemented the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) programme across the company.
Trustea : The Trustea Code is designed to evaluate the social, economic, agronomic and environmental performance of Indian tea estates, small holders and Bought Leaf Factories (BLFs). Amalgamated Plantations Pvt. Ltd. is working with the Tea Board of India in taking the Indian standards of sustainability to international levels. All Amalgamated Plantations Pvt. Ltd. Tea Estates are working towards this certification.
Rainforest Alliance: This certification recognizes a company’s efforts towards bio-diversity protection, conservation of natural resources, helping reduce climate change and offering economic opportunities to populations in need. Hathikuli and Nowera Nuddy have applied for Rainforest Alliance Certification.
