After the success of the Financial Literacy Programme conducted at Kolkata on the 24th of July, 2014, it was decided to extend the programme at all 25 Estates – a 1st in the industry.
The programmes were completed in the 1st week of September and was conducted by members of the Tata Asset Management Company Limited. The programme focused on the areas of “Financial Literacy and Planning” highlighting:
- Importance of saving
- Investing for retirement
- Understanding different asset classes
- Making investment choices
- Personal budgeting and expenses.
- How to save more by changing behavior from (Saving = Income-Expenses) to (Expenses = Income-Savings).
The participants were from among a cross section of our shareholders – Workers, Staff Members, Welfare Officers, Management Staff, Estate Employee Council Members and Union members.
The feedback received from the participants was overwhelmingly positive as it has not only helped them clear their doubts as Amalgamated Plantations Pvt. Ltd. shareholders but has also instilled in them a clarity & confidence in making investments for a better future.
