Training program for small tea growers for PPC compliance & food safety
APPL along with TGBL, ETP and TRA have rolled out a training program for small tea growers for PPC compliance, food safety, health and other related good agricultural practices through farmer field schools.The program has started in Powai, Nahortoli, Noharkutria, Kakajan, Teok, Lattakoojan and Hattigor, and will cover close to 1500 small tea growers.

Patients at the Guwahati Comprehensive Cleft Care Centre under Operation Smile now have more reasons to “smile”.Chief minister Tarun Gogoi this afternoon inaugurated a 3,000 square ft patient-care floor at the centre on the premises of MMCH here, built to clear congestion at the facility and manage the huge number of patients who come for free surgeries from across the Northeast.

Tata Volunteering Week –staff and the medical team of Kellyden Tea Estate visited Aapun Ghor, an old age home in Jakhalabandha. Apart from interacting and spending joyous times with the home members, a free medical checkup was also conducted and solar lamps were distributed.
Cleft Surgery Camp at RHRC with Operation Smile
The cleft surgery camp at RHRC started on January 28th and ended on February 2nd, 2015. The team comprised of 38 members with 23 representatives from Operation Smile, 10 from Referral Hospital & Research Centre (RHRC), Chubwa and 5 student volunteers.

A multi-disciplinary team from TMC Kolkata will decide the treatment protocol and guide the RHRC medical team on a case-to-case basis. Amalgamated Plantations Pvt.
