Amalgamated Plantations Private Limited is the emergent entity from divestment of the plantation business of Tata Tea Limited in East/North India. It has multiple shareholders including IFC, part of the World Bank Group, Tata Group Companies and employees including estate workers. Deeply committed to tea, Amalgamated Plantations has emerged as the second largest tea producer in India. Its tea range includes CTC, Orthodox, Green and Organic varieties. It has an annual production of 42 million kilograms of Tea from 21 estates in Assam and 4 in Dooars, West Bengal supported with factories in all these Estates for manufacturing teas. In addition, Amalgamated Plantations has four tea packeting centres for consumer packs for other branded tea companies. Amalgamated Plantations have an employee base of 31,000 and provides temporary and indirect employment opportunity to many and partnership with around 100thousand Small Tea Growers for sourcing green leaves which provide lively hood to that kind of households.  
The Board of the Company comprises of seven Directors with Mr. Ajoyendra Mukherjee being the Chairman. Being part of the Tata Group, besides being engaged in providing employment in Assam and Bengal, the Company is also engaged with many philanthropic activities with the tea community in Assam and in Dooars region of West Bengal.
